Who Are These Guys?

Gene Glaeser - Teaching Pastor

Gene served as a Senior Pastor during the first 14 years after graduating college.  During that time, he realized a traditional denominational approach to today's culture wasn't reaching people and most denominations weren't changing.

So Gene stepped down from ministry and started a business career which the Lord has blessed over the last 15 years.  The last 15 years have taught Gene what it means to work with budgets, forecasts, manage teams spread across the nation, balance work demands with family needs and practice his faith in the midst of the marketplace.

Now Gene will combine both careers to help lead Lake Shores Church and deliver the Sunday message.  Gene's perspective will take into account that we all have many demands on our lives including family, work and our health.  Thus Gene's sermons will focus on how to live our faith during all these activities.

Gene has been married to Kaye for 29 years and has one daughter, Amber; a son in law named Brandon and a son, Jordan.  Gene loves wake boarding, golf, kayaking and reading.

Rick Blackington - Youth Pastor

Rick passionately believes that reaching the teenage generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ brings wide spread change!  Rick through 18 years of student ministry has seen the great opportunities for students to thrive in a relationship with Jesus Christ.  Rick has valuable experience developing a team, raising up student leaders, and watching the gospel of Jesus change lives.  The call of God drive Rick to continue his ministry in the Highland Lakes Area.

Rick loves spending time with his family, all sports, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.  For 13 years Rick has been married to his beautiful wife Toni, and they have 3 kids; Malachi (6), Elijah (5), and Abigail (3).   Did we mention that Rick loves riding his chopper on all the winding Hill Country roads......oh yeah!

Stephen Galan - Worship Leader

Stephen has been leading worship in San Antonio for the past 5 years while working full time as a retail store manager.  Prior to San Antonio, Stephen spent 7 years in the Alaska, 6 years of which serving our country in the USAF.  This is where he met his wife, Renae, fell in love and married.  Throughout his time in Alaska, he received his calling to the ministry, served as a councilor for youth, participated in missions to native Alaskan's and lead worship on base and at a local church. Stephen brings an array of gifts including vocal, guitar and song writing.  His big passion is to see the church growing in a passionate pursuit of God into a life of worship. We are excited to have him with us.

Stephen has been married to his wonderful wife Renae for 6 years and together they have a 1 year old son named Samuel. Stephen's hobbies include most anything outdoors, most notably hunting and fishing.

Mike Shine - Community Pastor

Mike came to the Lord as a young adult in the Northwest.  Soon thereafter he found himself working with middle school and high school groups.  As Mike continued to understand God was calling him into ministry, he enrolled in Multnomah Bible College and after graduation became Youth Pastor at his local church.

In the mid-90's, he and Karen discovered a heart for Mexico and began training to become missionaries.  After language school and survey trips, Mike and family spent 6 years in the Mexico City area planting churches.

Mike then moved to Austin and became the Community Pastor for Hill Country Bible Church and started several effective outreach ministries.  After 5 years of developing ministries at HCBC, Mike and Karen moved to Marble Falls to help plant Lake Shores Church.

Mike and Karen have been married for 29 years and have one daughter, Ellie, and one son, Michael.  Mike loves working on cars, motorcycles and boats and driving/riding them when they work.

A Body Fit for God

So we have heard that our body is a temple, right? Well what does that mean? And is God really interested in our bodies, or just our heart & soul?
